In our culture of 24/7 connectivity, taking a step back is vital to re-energize the mind and the body. Being plugged in all of the time and overbooking work and personal schedules often leads to missed opportunities and lack of clarity.

So how do you integrate fitness and mindfulness into your life in order to stay creative and focused?

General Assembly has teamed up with Chill Meditation + Massage and EvolveHer to present a panel discussion around mindfulness and empowerment. Come and learn tips and tools that will help you take control of your life and be your best self.

We'll also be joined by a mindfulness trainer for a talk and guided mindfulness exercise that will explore different mindfulness tools that can help us to stay present, resourceful and resilient.

Tasha Liberman Photo

Director of Business Development,

Tasha is the Director of Business Development at EvolveHer, a creative co-working space for women where her passion for working with start-ups and connecting people collides. After earning a degree in Marketing with a concentration in International Business and Human Resources from the University of Kansas, Tasha worked as head of operations, digital marketing and strategic partnerships for a men's custom clothier start-up before she discovered her dedication to connecting others (especially women) to support one another and help each other grow.

As a certified yoga instructor, Tasha’s spiritual journey truly took flight in 2016 when she received her RYT 200 hour yoga alliance certification. She finds balance through daily meditation, yoga practice and setting big and small goals monthly. She uses her practice in her daily interactions by always thinking of new ways she can help others achieve their goals.

Maya works with women who may be struggling to find time to eat well as a result of a new job or who've been eating a certain way and simply aren’t seeing results. As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, she helps them navigate nutrition so they can develop habits that empower them to discover what it means to live a healthier, happier life. She also partners with innovative organizations to create a better culture, enabling them to grow a business grounded in well-being.

Born in Tel Aviv and raised in California, Maya now lives in Chicago with her husband and Dexter, a mini Aussie mix. On the weekends you can find her taking a hot yoga class with a friend or making up a fun recipe to share. The aSweatLife team continues to grow, boasting more than 30 writers across the world with varying expertise and active lifestyles. hosts monthly events called #Sweatworking, and has been building an active community through those since March, 2014. That event platform grew into a twice-annual phenomenon called #SweatworkingWeek, which is like restaurant week for fitness occurring in June and January. aSweatLife curates a schedule and moves the City of Chicago to try new things and meet new people - all while creating opportunities for brands that align with aSweatLife.

Laura Sage is the creator and CEO of CH/LL an incense-free modern meditation studio. Laura was driven to create Chill by her desire to establish a regular meditation practice and her frustration at not being able to find a meditation studio in Chicago that she found approachable. Prior to launching Chill, Laura worked in the investment world. She was the Director of Marketing and Investor Relations at a Chicago and London-based hedge fund, an options trader and a private banker. Laura is also the Founder of The Lynn Sage Foundation which is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer. Laura earned her MBA in Finance and Marketing from the Kellogg School of Business and holds a BS in Economics from the University of Arizona.

Jason Loebig is the co-founder of Live Better Co., an experiential health and wellness company that serves corporate wellness projects, local events, and international wellness retreats. He is also a Nike Trainer, Barry's Bootcamp instructor, and yoga teacher.
