#LadyBoss Profile: Gaby DuFour

Introducing a very special Lady Boss profile with Gaby DuFour of FitFourtitude, a Chicago health and fitness blog. Gaby spent the first few years of her professional life working in sports, first for the Oakland A’s and then as an account manager for a sports data and tech company. However, her career trajectory changed after she was hospitalized and diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder. Her time in the hospital and time spent with medical professionals made Gaby realize her true calling which is to be a nurse. In true Lady Boss fashion, Gaby has quit her longtime corporate job and has enrolled in nursing school while fueling her side hustle and growing follower base on her FitFourtitude blog. Gaby is passionate about the health and wellbeing of others and fighting to be seen along with others diagnosed with what she calls “invisible illnesses.” It was such a pleasure and honor to profile Gaby and to hear her story of determintation and personal growth. We can’t wait to see what the future holds and wish her luck!

Empowerment & support women in all stages of their lives are key values of EvolveHer and we are so lucky to have a guest blogger like Gaby who shares and exemplifies the same values.

Strength, Perseverance, and Passion

1. EvolveHer is all about inspiring creativity and fostering collaboration amongst women.  What is a powerful message you personally strive to share through your work and life?

Fall down seven times, get up eight. There are always going to be set backs or a reason why you can’t get better. But just because you fail once doesn’t mean you can’t do it. Don’t let the set back ruin the come back.

2. How do you stay motivated when you hit a speed bump or faced rejection during your journey?

Positivity. In the past year I’ve started to think about things in a positive light, especially with finding out I have an autoimmune disease. It sucks but if I wouldn’t have gotten sick I would have never realized I wanted to go into nursing.

3. What is a lesson you wish you could teach your younger self?

You can’t compare yourself to others. Your journey, life, strength and career is based on your performance so focus on yourself and your journey.

4. What influential woman would you have over for dinner, and what would you make them?

I would make my Paleo Butternut Squash Empanadas for the woman who won the Boston Marathon this year, Dez London. She has that never give up personality and I love that.

5. How can we find you? Please list your Instagram handle, website, etc. so we can learn more!
