Cindy Arocho is a generational change agent. She was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in New Jersey as the oldest of 5 children. Her mother never graduated high school and father never went to college. Cindy became the first in her family to graduate college after attending Princeton University. She went on to work at Goldman Sachs & Co, one of the top investment banking firms in the world. After three years at Goldman, she was asked by the Vice President to lead a new office team in Bangalore, India. Following her heart, she left Wall Street and spent three months with the children of Mozambique, Africa. These children taught her how to see the world through new lenses. For the next year and a half, Cindy traveled the world with teams of young adults. She has traveled to 27+ countries around the world serving orphans, widows, local organizations, and schools.
At Northwestern Mutual, she strives to promote female empowerment in the workplace. Within her first year, Cindy was recognized as one of the Top 10 Women in the South for new clients, and in 2018, Cindy continued her Top 10 spot for top premium. Not only is she the first woman in Virginia to hold the title of Growth and Development Director, but she is a Million Dollar Round Table qualifier. She has also graduated from NM’s prestigious Women’s Leadership Program. Today, Cindy continues to lead the way for women in her industry through her #PlanLikeAGirl movement that she founded at NM to empower women in financial services.
